2009 Noiret
Announcing a New Release in Limited Production
Noiret is a red wine grape variety that is a product of the plant breeding program at Cornell University. First seedling was propagated in the 70's along with 115 other trial crosses, was tested extensively throughout the 80's, and initially released to NY and PA growers for field trials in 1994 as the experimental "NY73.0136.17". In 2003, Noiret was officially named and released for commercial wine grape production.
Ideally suited to our local climate and soils, this new variety results in a fine, full bodied red wine with characteristic peppery notes in the finish.
Be sure to try Noiret with our Easy Mediterranean Chicken recipe.
